Like, but runs long
PostedJune 17, 2016
I so wanted to find a way to keep the 2 tunics I ordered on line. I loved the fabric, the overall style, the coolness for hot summer days. However, I found this to run very long, and would only wear with leggings, which I would never wear in summer. I am admittedly very short ( 4'10") but I have bought other PETITE tunics/tops from JJill, and they may be a little longer on me than others, but they are not so long as to be a like a short dress. Usually the petite version are a bit longer on me than what I see on the model, but this one was massively different from the picture. The model looks like a slightly long top and this was more like something that stops an inch or 2 above my knee. The other sizing that could be tricky if you're built like me is the Petite Medium was quite large, not simply comfortably loose, through my hips and legs. However, I have proportionately broad shoulders relative to the rest of my body, and I think a smaller size would have fit me much better everywhere else, but would have pulled at the shoulders. If your shoulders are broader than the rest of you that could be a problem. OTOH I really loved the colors, the style, the feel, so if this fits you it's a great top.
No, I do not recommend this product.

pretty and practical
PostedApril 8, 2016
As someone else noted, this looks like a "maybe" on the hangar, but trying on is very flattering and attractive. It is styled so it can go with slacks or a skirt. It is a little long, but not too long. JJill sizing is always an adventure for me. I'm petite, and am proportionately bigger through the chest and shoulders than the hips, but can wear anything from an EX small to Medium in JJill tops. ( In most other companies, I wear medium Petite tops.) In this I took a Petite Small and it fit perfectly, still very loose and swingy, but not ridiculously so. I like tops that are made to be worn out, but aren't tunics--which make my short legs look even shorter--and this fits the bill perfectly.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Vertical rows of stitches give our hooded sweater rich texture and a light, airy feel. Draped open front is slightly longer than the straight back hemline.

Cute sweater for summer vacation
PostedSeptember 4, 2015
Particularly for beach vacations, I do like light sweaters with hoods, and this one is cute. Will provide some warmth on cooler summer evening, but not too heavy and hood is nice option. I like mine, but I would offer alerts if considering purchasing. At least on me, the botton of the front goes more in a v shape on the bottom than you can tell from the picture, and you should know, unlike a lot of other recent styles, the front is actually a fair bit longer than the back, so the back stops just a bit below the waist. If you wanted something with more coverage in the back, this wouldn't work. Also, unlike many loose Jjill sweaters this runs pretty true to size. I'm generally small but with a relatively broad back, and can be anything from XSP to MP in jill tops. In this one my shoulders definitely needed the medium.

Better than expected, cute and comfortable
PostedJuly 21, 2015
I must admit I bought this at the end of the season when it was much reduced, and purchased it solely to be used as a bathing suit cover-up. I live in a city and belong to a pool at a hotel across the street, so don't feel comfortable with the typical beach cover-up. However, when it arrived, it actually looked much better than I expected, and I would probably wear it as a regular dress, perhaps not to work, but out to dinner, etc. I bought it in black, which does look less beachy than the color they show. Also, unlike many JJill dresses, it ran more or less true to size relative to other stores. I'm proportionately a bit broad across the shoulders and bust, and I bought petite M and definitely needed it on top. Top fits perfectly, and I think S would have been too small. The bottom half is probably a bit larger than I need, but not to the point of looking bad or silly like some Jjill dresses. Also, I frequently don't like those kinds of busts/necklines because they can look sloppy or require a camisole, but this one works perfectly all on its own. It would take no space in a suitcase, and you'd have an extra dress when you were traveling, so I do recommend.

Comfortable, loose but not shapeless. Good "go to" dress
PostedApril 29, 2015
I ordered this dress because I thought it could provide the comfort of a shapeless dress, but the style of one with some shape, and it worked out to be exactly that. It's very comfortable and cool, but the top provides some sense of tailoring, and I generally look better in things that appear tailored.I found it to run rather large. I like my clothes to be comfortably loose, and usually order medium petite in other stores. I ordered small petite in this, and even with that, it fits me more loosely around the hips than what you see on the model, but I'm totally happy with it. Some times I have problems with J Jill dresses because I need a small in the hips, but medium through the bust, but even that fit comfortably in this. I wish they had it in other colors. I got the blue and am tempted by the white, but I live in a city and fear urban grime would have it gray after several blocks.

Enormous
PostedJanuary 17, 2015
I like my clothes a little loose, and generally purchase tops in petite medium, because I need a little extra room across shoulders and bust. In J Jill, I some times go down, because many of their tops do run large. I had read the online reviews that said it ran "true to size" or even that it "ran small" and bought the petite medium. It was absolutely enormous. I wanted it for skinny jeans or pants, so wanted it to be a bit tunic-like, but this was well beyond that. It looked like a middle aged woman was for some reason wearing maternity clothing. It was even huge across the bust, where normally I need some extra room. Also, the back has a yoke which only increases the maternity top look. And, it seemed rather long. I would recommend getting one or two sizes smaller than normal. The red was a pretty color, but the sizing was crazy.

nice flattering fit, and also very comfortable
PostedSeptember 26, 2014
These jeans are great, in that they have a fitted sleek fit without feeling tight and confining. They're fitted enough to wear with loose boxy tops that you might wear with leggings, but aren't so snug that you couldn't also wear more conventional tops. My only warning would be that if, like me, you frequently go down in size @ JJill., I think these run true to size. I ordered my normal size and they were fine. A smaller size would have been too tight. Also, they do run rather short, so if you're in-between petite and regular, or regular-tall, you might go for the longer option.

Nice for summer, but runs extremely large
PostedMay 23, 2014
I like loose linen tops for summer. I don't deal well with the heat, so they work well, and also look presentable. I generally wear medium petite tops in other stores, but jjill clothes usually are rather generous, so I ordered a small petite. I'll probably keep it, but an extra small would probably fit better and closer to the fit on the picture of the model. Even 2 sizes down it would be the loose fit it's mean to have. I do like the neck line and pleats, flattering and could work for work or leisure.

Cute, comfortable, versatile, but runs large
PostedMay 17, 2014
This is a nice versatile dress for when you have to look professional or dressed for an occasion, but it's hot out and you don't feel like dealing with dressing. It definitely runs large. I normally wear petite medium or petite small in most stores, though with Jjill I never though, since some of their clothes are cut rather generously. I ordered this in both petite medium and petite small and the petite medium was ridiculously big, not simply comfortably loose. The petite small fit me a tad looser around the hips than it shows on the photo model, but I am happy with the fit, particularly for something I'm wearing in warm weather. It feels wonderful on, and the neckline and sleeves are very flattering, and it would basically take up no space in your suitcase, though you would have to steam or iron before you wore it.

Lovely and practical
PostedApril 12, 2014
I really love this top because you can wear in untucked, and it looks absolutely perfect, since of course that's what's intended. It's extremely flattering in the cut, and very practical for spring summer days that aren't quite sleeveless weather. Would go with skirt or pants. I will say if you want it to fit like it does on the model, you might go down at least one size. In other stores, I usually wear a petite medium or petite small, though J jill usually runs a little big. I bought this in petite small, and I love the fit, but it's a little looser than the fit they show on the model. I actually think the slightly looser fit is more attractive than the fit they show online. This looks better in real life, and if I hadn't tried on in the store, I might not have bought it from seeing it online. I bought it in white, and it does need a camisole underneath because it is fairly see-through. Also, though I"m no spring chicken myself, I do shy away from things that seem too totally little old lady, and the open scallops at the bottom sent out an alert to me, but at least for me, I found it more stylish and less "retirement community"( not that there's anything wrong with that ;-)) when I actually put it on my body.

Our casual, double-cloth pullover with a drawstring hood and waist. Tunnel pocket. Long sleeves with trocas-shell buttoned cuffs. Box pleat below back yoke.

fit

Is this a loose fit? I generally wear petite medium in tops, but in your looser tops I need small. it mostly depends upon how generous it is through the chest.

Our versatile, button-front V-neck style in a flattering A-line silhouette. Patch pocket. Long sleeves. Side vents. Shell buttons. Back yoke above soft box pleats. Hemline is curved and slightly longer at back. Low-hip length. Cotton, polyester and spandex. Machine wash. Imported.

sizing

If I wear petite small in your looser style tops, and petite medium in your more fitted tops, which would you recommend? Proportionately, I'm a bit bigger around the chest than the hips. In your really loose kimono style sweaters, I wear extra small. So, I'm very confused, and I don't like things pulling at the bust lilne..

I noticed on a couple of the reviews that they are saying that the pullover is running slightly large. Should I size down??

Topic:Size
I bought a size down and I like my sweaters to fit loose and casual, and i was happy with the fit. It fits loosely just like you see on the model. My normal size would have been unattractively large.

Fit/Size

Is this true to size or does it run large? Some fit perfect whereas others are too large when I order (L)...am more of a 12-14 fit. Thank you!
Topic:Size, Fit
It is a bit oversized, but not as much as some Jjill tops. I went down 1 size, and it was loose as shown in picture, but not bigger than it was meant to be. At times in some JJill tops I've needed to go down 2 sizes to get something that wasn't ridiculously big. I normally wear a size 8 petite top or MP (i like my clothes a bit loose), and in this the SP fit perfectly. In the truly oversized JJIll styles I need to get an Extra Small petite, and that would have been too small for me in this one. Hope this provides a little help.
